Fresno State Recycles
The RECYCLING web site will soon be converted to SUSTAINABILITY. Check back for content updates in early Spring 2009.
Recycling is a part of campus history. Beginning with the Men's Track Team in the 1980's, athletes collected recyclables to support their program and leading up to the establishment of an outdoor campus recycling center present day, recycling is a growing concern. We invite faculty, staff and students to join us by recycling plastic, bottles and cans, glass containers and cardboard in your area.
Campus continues to work on ways to increase recycling efforts that lead to reducing contributions to nearby landfills, and meet state and federal recycling mandates. Campus reports annually on recycled tonnages to the California Department of Conservation. Copies of those reports can be found in the Recycling Facts secution of this Website.
Hours of operation
The recycling program is available Monday-Friday during campus business hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The outdoor recycling center is located on Barstow Avenue (between Maple and Chestnut Avenue) and accepts paper, plastic, bottles and cans, and glass containers.
