Graduate Hooding Ceremony (Please check this Web site often as new information is added.)
All students who have completed their degrees in Summer 2004 and Fall 2004, or who have applied to graduate in Spring 2005 are invited to participate in the ceremony. Graduate degrees will be officially conferred during the Commencement ceremony, on Saturday, May 21, 2005 at 10:00 a.m. in the Save Mart Center at Fresno State. (Additional ceremony information)

All candidates for hooding must bring caps, gowns, hoods, and identification cards. Your identification card is in the graduation packet that you will receive when you purchase your graduating regalia at the Kennel Bookstore. Information on candidate seating and procession will also be included in your packet.

Because the Hooding Ceremony is important to all participants--not only the first graduates, but also the last to receive their hoods--graduates will not be permitted to leave the ceremony early. This is a celebration to be conducted with dignity and decorum. Participants must wear the appropriate academic regalia. You may wear academic honor cords, medallions, or ethnic sashes. Please observe the following: no signs or decorations may be carried; no decorations on hood, cap, or gown; flowers may be worn after you are hooded. Helium balloons will not be allowed in the Save Mart Center.

REMINDER: Students who have not completed all degree requirements by the end of the spring semester must reapply for the degree to be granted in order for the degree to be awarded. If you intend to graduate in August, you must re-file an application between May 23— June 10, 2005. Applications will be available in the Division of Graduate Studies, Thomas Administration Building, Room 132. Ordering Caps, Gowns and Hoods
Caps, gowns, hoods, and tassles may be ordered in person at the Kennel Bookstore. For your added convenience, the bookstore will have extended hours during the week of commencement activities.
