The Department of Communication at California State University, Fresno, is pleased to announce the:
52nd Annual Peach Blossom Festival of Oral Interpretation
Peach Blossom Festival 2010 is scheduled for:
Thursday March 18th and Friday March 19th, 2010.
We hope that your school will attend and participate!
The purpose of the Peach Blossom Festival is to encourage elementary school children to gain knowledge and appreciation of literature through oral interpretation. Participation in this event is an excellent opportunity to incorporate oral interpretation into your curriculum. Additionally, the Festival affords us an opportunity to meet with some of our future students, and it allows the children to visit our campus and interact with our faculty and students.
Last year, approximately 6,000 students participated in the Festival. These children represented nearly 200 public, private, and home schools from the Central Valley.
The Peach Blossom Committee will be utilizing our web page again this year. Please consult our web page for notes, forms and information. Our web page address is www.peachblossom.net We will be adding more features to our Internet web page that hosts information concerning the festival. We anticipate that future mailings will be through e-mails to your school. We hope this will cut down the cost of paper, supplies, and postage for all involved.
IMPORTANT: Due to increasing university student enrollment and construction on campus we will only be able to accommodate one large chorus from each participating school. In addition, the increase in university enrollment makes it difficult to schedule morning session times, especially for Thursday. This situation makes it ever more important that your school register early if a specific session is necessary for your scheduling. If we have space available we may be able to offer a second choral entry but those times and dates will not be known until after the closing registration date. Please indicate on your registration form if you would like to be on the waiting list for an extra choral presentation.

Please note that the Registration Form must be returned to our office with payment by February 1st, 2010.
