Specific Disabilities & Accommodations
Although the following list of conditions is by no means exhaustive, the brief descriptions provided outline. The types of disabilities that some students experience, the effects on functioning, and appropriate accommodations. The Merck Manual of Diagnosis Therapy (1999), Current Medical Diagnosis Treatment (1995) and the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders : DSM - IV (1994) were valuable references in the preparation of these summaries.
