Learning Strategies

When requested, SSD provides training in alternate study techniques for students with disabilities. You may make an appointment with the appropriate Disability Management Specialist.

Registration Assistance

SSD can assist students whose disabilities make it difficult or impossible to register on their own. The student, however, must be available to assist in the registration and selection of courses.

Tutoring

SSD will refer students for tutorial services in the Learning Resource Center. If the student provides written permission, SSD will assist a student’s tutor with a better understanding of effective tutoring strategies appropriate to specific disabilities, where indicated, 1 on 1 tutoring may be requested.

Priority Registration

Priority Registration is available to students with disabilities to help assure that course selections and schedules accommodate the specific needs of individual students.

Parking

Blue curb parking is available for students with disabilities that hinder mobility or make walking difficult. Parking is available close to classrooms and other frequently used student facilities to shorten distances students must travel. Applications for blue curb parking are available from the office of Services for Students with Disabilities.
