Dear Bulldogs,

Welcome to Bulldog Country and congratulations on your decision to join our community! I’m excited to share in this journey with you, as I, too, enter my first year on campus as your Vice President for Student Affairs. And I’m anxious to meet you all!

It’s clear to me that Fresno State attracts some of the best, hardest working students around, and I assure you our staff is committed to providing the support and resources for you to succeed both inside and outside of the classroom. I encourage you to become involved in campus life and get engaged in a variety of activities. Students who do so have a richer collegiate experience and are most likely to succeed. The lifelong relationships you form will be priceless.

Within the Division of Student Affairs, you’ll uncover your key to involvement on campus with our dynamic programs and services that will help you achieve your academic, professional, and personal goals. We offer learning that goes on beyond the formal classroom. At Fresno State, we understand the importance of offering co-curricular activities that engage, inform, connect, and inspire our students.

Bring your student experience to life by joining a club or organization – there are more than 270. Celebrate Bulldog traditions events like Vintage Days, Homecoming, and sporting events. Come out to our SAFARI (Student Affairs Fair and Resource Information) program in the fall, right after Welcome Week. Join us at activities, concerts, and performances throughout the school year. Come out and support and cheer on our student-athletes.

Strengthen your leadership skills by becoming a leader on campus by running for an elected position within Associated Students, Inc. (ASI), becoming an orientation leader, or working on campus. Take advantage of our student-centered support services, including services for students with disabilities, career development services, advising, tutoring, and more.

The Student Health and Counseling Center is available to you, offering an array of services that help you stay healthy at Fresno State. Staffed with physicians, nurse practitioners, mental health counselors and various support staff; you will have access to convenient health care and wellness services. Stay fit and relieve stress with fitness activities at the Student Recreation Center to complement your overall wellness plan.

For a complete line-up of our upcoming events and a wealth of information on our departments, please visit www.fresnostate.edu/studentaffairs.

At Fresno State, we invite you to have the time of your life. The faculty, staff, and I look forward to getting to know you. We’re here to help you find your way as you grow, create everlasting memories, and develop lifelong success. We want you to have an unparalleled college experience.

Please feel free to contact me at sadiv@csufresno.edu or stop by my office in the Joyal Administration building, Room 262.

Have a great year! Go Dogs!
